A HOT summer day brought in many people seeking relief from the elements (as well as some free wine).  Refreshing whites set the stage for earthy, spirited reds, giving our tasters relief from the heat and a preview of Fall.

The identity of the Mystery Wine is:

2010 Concha y Toro Frontera Cabernet Sauvignon  (reg. $9.99) $8.99/8.49 MAGNUM
This Central Valley Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits subtle hints of vanilla, bell pepper and toasted almonds. Frontera Cabernet Sauvignon is a balanced and fruity wine, rich yet medium in body with structured tannins.

Other wines in the tasting included:

2010 Domaine Bellevue Touraine Sauvignon Blanc (reg. $10.99) $9.89/9.34

Produced in France's Loire Valley, this Sauvignon Blanc is aromatic and fresh. It is dominated by exotic fruit and citrus fruit (pineapple, mango, passion fuit) The palate exhibits flavors of grapefruit, minerality and pineapple.

Made with organic grapes, the Natal is an Argentine wine that has an intense bright yellow color, with abundant ripe fruit and honey on the nose.  It is will balanced and finishes with a crispness that begs another sip.

2008 Wine Men of Gotham Chardonnay/Semillon (reg. $8.99) $8.09/7.64

2007 Vidal Fleury Cotes du Rhone (reg. $15.99) $14.39/13.59
The wine has a ruby core with dark highlights.  Grenache leads the nose with strawberry, chocolate, prune, cherry and violet notes.  On the palate are rich black fruits, cherry, and pepper. This wine has a delightfully long finish.

2008 Airfield Estates Mustang (reg. $24.99) $22.49/21.24

53% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 8% Cinsault, 2% Counoise & 2% Mouvedre  This rustic and ripe Rhone style, Yakima Valley (WA) blend has concentrated flavors of dark berries, vanilla and spice with underlying hints of white pepper and smoke.

The other addition to Saturday's Tasting - thanks to Martin:
