Have you noticed the crisp cooler nights? Before too long the kids will go back to school, and we can put another summer behind us. But before we get there, you can still take advantage of the Pinot sale until the end of the month. Buy any 3 Pinots and get 10% off, or get 15% off by the case (mix and match)!

Wines On Sale
The wines below will be on sale through Saturday, August 27th:
This sunny Saturday saw regular tasters and new tasters alike. Many people were stumped by the mystery wine, thinking it was perhaps a South American wine or New World offering. Pat came the closest to figuring out its identity.
The identity of the Mystery Wine is:
Grand Bateau 2009 (reg. $13.99) $12.59/11.89
This elegant blend of Merlot (75%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (25%) is aged partially in new oak barrels. It is velvety and round, medium to full-bodied and has luscious, ripe red fruit flavors, spice and a touch of toasty oak. Rarely do you see a drinkable Bordeaux at this price!
Other wines in the tasting included:
Mission St. Vincent Sauvignon Blanc (reg. $10.99) $9.89/9.34
This white Bordeaux has a nicely floral aroma. On the palate is grapefruit and peach, with a crisp, clean finish. The Sauvignon is complemented by 30% Semillion, giving it a bit more body and ripe fruit. This is a great value wine!
Prunotto Roero Arneis 2008 (reg. $19.99) $17.99/16.99
Arneis is a great varietal originating in the Piedmont region of Italy. Prunotto is now owned by the famous Antinori family of Tuscany, but this wine retains its classic Piemontese character. Very aromatic, it has a light mouthfeel, and rich flavors.
Sokol Blossor Evolution 14th Edition (reg. $19.99) $17.99/16.99
This organic blend of nine varietals is packed with flavor. It is an off-dry white with zippy acid, a tropical fruit bowl of flavors and a crisp, clean finish. This would be a fantastic wine for pairing with spicy Indian, Thai and Chinese cuisine.
Azienda Santa Barbara Rosso Piceno 2010 (reg. $9.99) $8.99/8.49
This affordable blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese hails from Italy’s Marche region. With soft and juicy bright red fruit notes, it is very drinkable. Begging to be paired with typical Italian fare, this is the perfect everyday red to enjoy with pizza!
Belle Glos Meomi Pinot Noir 2009 (reg. $19.99) $17.99/16.99
Our very own Destin Fairman worked for Caymus Vineyards during the production of this fantastic Pinot. It is smooth, and richly packed with flavor. Red berries and lavender on the nose are followed up with a rich palate of earthy raspberry and bramble fruit. This is a heftier Pinot that most. Come try the fruits of Destin’s labor!
Rosenblum Petite Sirah 2005 (reg. $24.99) SALE $16.99
This California Petite Sirah has rich tannins, earth, and loads of blackberry and blueberry. It is a full-bodied wine that manages to be very smooth. With this wine currently on sale, it is a steal!
