 Saturday Tasting -

 Wines on Sale!

The following wines are ON SALE through January 21st:

Bell’s Saturday Tasting was well attended as MLK weekend and the playoffs didn't deter tasters from sampling fine wines.  Regulars and newcomers shared their thoughts on the offerings and many purchased the Mystery Wine even before knowing its identity and final price.  The identity of the Mystery Wine is:

di Lenardo Toh! 2010 (reg. $11.99) SALE $9.99

A clean and creamy Friulano, with hints of lemon meringue, clementine, smoky stone and white pepper. There's an aromatic note of orchard blossom, and the fresh acidity drives through to the mouthwatering finish. A fine match for starters, soups, pasta, rice and fish, especially shellfish. (89pts Wine Spectator)  Other wines in the tasting included:

Simonnet Febvre Chablis 2009 (reg. $15.99) SALE $13.99

Aromas of oyster shell and wet stone overlay melon and ripe apple flavors in this round Chablis, which is open and supple, with a lingering, juicy finish that shows citrus accents. (90pts Wine Spectator)

Belle Glos Meomi (May-oh-mee) Pinot Noir 2010 (reg. $19.99) SALE $16.99

This beautiful pinot noir has a lovely nose of ripe raspberries, dark cherries and other, luscious fruit aromas. On the palate, there is layer upon layer of berries with a touch of cloves and baking spices. It’s got a bright taste, is very drinkable and extremely food friendly. It’s smooth, silky and elegant all wrapped in one delicious bundle. It goes down easy and leaves you wanting more.

Chemin des Olivettes 2009 (reg. $12.99) SALE $11.49

A powerful red, with a rich, smoky allure to the dark red fruit flavors that center on plum and kirsch. Shows meaty touches midpalate, with a broad, muscular finish of mocha and dark chocolate. (92pts Wine Spectator)  Yum!

Pine Ridge Forefront Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 (reg. $21.99) SALE $18.99

This unique blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah is full-bodied and juicy, showing beautiful blackberry and cassis flavors with hints of toasty oak.

C. Hughes Flying Winemaker Zinfandel 2009 (reg. $12.99) SALE $11.49

There is dark fruit on the nose and a beautiful, intense dark-berry flavor on the palate. This wine has all the depth and complexity you'd expect.

Pedroncelli Petite Sirah (reg. $14.99) SALE $13.49

Flavorful and delightful petit syrah from Pedroncelli. One of Pedroncelli's biggest and best reds!
